Our current events:

For any one that is interested, Jake and Josh have both signed up for fall-baseball in Burleson. Jake will be playing in the Bronco , and Josh will still be in Mustang league. We let Jake decide if he was going to play football, or play fall-ball, and he decided that it would be a good idea to play fall-ball, so the coaches in Burleson would know him come spring, at the recommedation of his coach from Crowley, where he played in the spring, since they were done with the draft in Burleson when I tried to sign them up. The ball field in Burleson is 2 minutes from our house,we really could walk there. And the other nice...(more than nice) thing about playing in Burleson is the have so many teams the are inclusive, so every game is at Burleson!!! So glad, Crowley was alot of traveling. But we really will miss Coach Richard, he is such a great balance of nice and competetive. The boys loved him.

We are considering sending Bree and/or Jake to school here. We are having a more difficult time making the final decision than we thought we would. We are still up in the air. So please pray the Lord will guide us to do the thing He wants us to do. Burleson High School is huge, there is over 700 in the sophmore class, I do not know how many are in the junior class, Bree's, but I sure it is similar. They are going to have to build a new High School sometime soon. There are two middle schools, we went to Hughes, which is where Jake would attend, it was nice.

Todd is still on 2nd shift, but he is hoping that will change very soon. He has put in for 1st, and his time is up....so we keep hoping. That would be so good for our family all the way around!

Well, we are all doing well, hope that is the same for all of you. Sure do miss you all so much.

Oh, and What is going on with our Tigers?????? I can't believe they waited till we moved to Texas to run/win the pennant!!!!!! Gosh, I wish I could get their games here! We did go to the game when they were here and they beat the Ranger's! We all wore orange, and we were on tv when a homerun was hit and Bob did see us on TiVo.

Enjoy the rest of your summer y'all!

W.B.Y.C. July 17th - 20th

World Baptist Youth Conference was hosted by Arlington Baptist College. My church competed in alot of the competitions. Which was great, It was so fun to watch my friends compete and to be able to cheer them on. We all sang in choir which was a lot more work than you would expect. We sang a total of three songs, "Trust In The Name Of The Lord Our God", "I Will Sing Of The Mercies Of The Lord", and "Gather At The River". We came in fourth place which sounds ok but that was out of four churches. There was three classes depending on how big your choir was, our choir fit into the biggest class. I also co-wrote and co-directed a movie that we made for W.B.Y.C.. We only started two weeks before the deadline so obviously there where a couple of things we could have done better had we spent more time on it, but considering the time we spent on the movie I think we did a pretty decent job. We came in second place, receiving a pretty big trophy, hmm... shiny. The church who won first place had a better made movie but our story line was way more deep and indepth. Our movie really made you think but it was hard to pull off in two weeks. Hopefully we'll win first next year, we'll see. My church also took first and second place in Bible Quiz which is pretty amazing considering that they could have been asked any question from 1 Samuel 17-30. Such as in chapter 21 verse 12 Who was David afraid of? And they could actually answer that. WOW. Next year they will have to know the whole book of Romans. I was also a part of a skit which was really fun. We basically acted out the song by Casting Crowns, "Can Anybody See Her?" with the music in the background. I don't know who would know that song, but if you do, you will know how that can be a touching skit. My mom said it gave her goosebumps. Another funny thing that happened was when the keynote speaker was trying to quote Napoleon Dynamite. I don't know what was more funny him messing up the lines or the movie it's self. Oh well at least he tried he is like a couple generations removed.
Here I am on stage at my church the Sunday before W.B.Y.C. started. Here Leah and me are performing the skit.
Here we are again, same skit.
Part of my choir, whoever took this picture cut off a third of us.Im on the very end top row. This picture doesn't do our choir outfits justice.

Everyone....meet the newest edition to our family, Rowdy "Yates" Vossen.

We decided to get a new kitten. Well I decided that I knew what I wanted, and I would settle for nothing else. My requirements were, a long haired calico kitten. I found one 4 hours away in Oklahoma. I had searched every web site possible...newspapers, shelters, there is not a kitten in DFW that I have not heard of! So this one in OK was it. Todd agreed....he was looking forward to driving up there actually, just think of the geocaches we could do on the way! Then Tuesday we stopped into the Burleson Animal Shelter, to see if they had any that weren't online. Well it turns out they had a lot of them. As we checked out the kitties, one caught Todd's eye, as it was reaching out through the bars meowing at him with all his might. No sorry little guy, I want a calico with long hair, although he was the cutest kitten there, with a huge personality....he was short one color. He was so cute, we looked at him and both of us reached through the cage and pet the little purring puffball, then we started to walk away to look at the calicos in the next room. Little puffball screamed at us with both paws reaching out through the bars to come back! Then it happened.... Todd's eyes softened, and the corners his lips curled upward, to a sweet little smile and then I heard what I never thought I'd here come from Todd, while looking at a cat..."awe", and in went his hand again to pet the puffball. The meowing stopped, and the loud purring began. We decided to go home, talk it over and decide later. I went back with two kittens in mind to choose from, I visited with the puffball first, then I was going to visit with a sweet blue eyed Hymalayan kitten that was one of the cutest thing I ever saw. Well, after 15 minutes in the bonding room, I never even asked to see the other, Rowdy was Todd's favorite...and any friend of Todd's is a friend of mine.
